Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Casino Rocks!
I spent about 5 hours at the Hard Rock Casino in AC last Sunday, and boy did I have fun! My sister and brother in-law were making the drive and asked if I wanted to tag along, so I did, and I’m glad I did!
Atlantic City is about an 80 mile drive from where I live, straight down the Garden State Parkway. That’s essentially about the same as going to the Wind Creek (formerly the Sands) in Bethlehem, and about 20 miles farther than Parx in BenSalem, both located in Pennsylvania. My luck has been dire to say the least at these casinos recently.
After a pleasant enough ride, we arrived at about 9:30 am Sunday morning. Parking was easy and only 5 bucks with a Casino card. Walking in, you’re immediately struck by the pleasant atmosphere and relatively clean air. As a Hard Rock, it is filled with Rock and pop music memorabilia, starting with suits worn by Elvis, Kiss, Sinatra, and Dean Martin. The rest rooms are spotless. And during the walk to the casino, you pass a wide range of classy fast food eating opportunities.
I needed to activate my “founding member” Wild Card membership at the gust services area, and because it was early, that happened quickly.
With that, we descended down the big escalators surrounded by giant video screens of rock concert performances to the gambling floor, where I immediately spied the smoking section, which was, thankfully, cigar friendly, and relatively unsmokey. For the next few hours, we split up and I played a variety of slots, like Jungle Wild, Dancing Drums, Wild Panda, and more. I ended up after a lunch of chicken parm with $700 or so in winnings. from a combination of bonus rounds and straight forward wins. The final coup de grace was a $150 win in the high roller slot room, on a 2-pull sequence playing $5.00 bets.
All, in all, a very pleasant time, in very pleasant surroundings.
